About Department

Bartin University Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design Department of Computer Engineering was established in 2008. Sub-Branches are Computer Software, Computer Science and Computer Hardware. Computer Engineering have 2 Assoc. Prof., 7 Doctoral Faculty Members and 6 Research Assistants, and has started its educational activities in the 2018-2019 academic year. The language of education/training of the program is Turkish. It implements the course selection system that allows students to specialize in areas such as computer vision, software engineering, big data, computer networks, security, artificial intelligence and more.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM
1-) To train engineers who meet the requirements of the sector in their field and constantly renew themselves,
2-) To graduate engineers who have a career in national or international IT organizations,
3-) To train engineers who can offer sustainable solutions in the information sector and follow scientific and technological developments.


Estimated graduation in the Computer Engineering department is 4 years. Students can take foreign language education for 1 year if it is needed. In the first two years, we have courses mainly focused on basic engineering and basic computer engineering, along with mathematical courses. In the next two years, elective courses were introduced in order to ensure that students could focus on software or hardware subjects or various fields of computer engineering, except for the courses that must be taken related to computer engineering. When students enter the final grade, they will be subjected to a one-semester workplace training, and students who succeed in this training will be eligible to graduate. Students can join international programs across the world.
